THE LOCATION:-

Located in Holetown on Barbados' beautiful 'platinum' west coast, within the parish of St. James, the villa is situated in a palm tree-lined residential avenue only 100 metres from the superb white sandy beaches - washed by the crystal-clear blue waters of the Caribbean Sea - where many water sports including scuba diving and snorkelling are available.   

Alamanda's guests have authorised beach access through the Discovery Bay Hotel which is just a 1 minute walk from the villa.

An excellent selection of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets are located in Sunset Crest & Holetown. Other amenities including the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre - with its shops, cafes & cinemas, plus lots more - bars, banks, a supermarket, Post Office, medical centres, a cyber café and an air-conditioned shopping mall - with duty free shops - are also within easy walking distance.

THE ACCOMMODATION:-

Alamanda is set within its own large, private, secluded tropical landscaped gardens which are attractively illuminated at night. This is the perfect place for relaxation and watching the hummingbirds flitting between the exotic plants. You may also catch sight of the monkeys and mongooses at dawn and dusk.

The villa backs onto local playing fields and it frequently enjoys the cooling breezes that roll down the hills from the sugar plantations.

Alamanda is tastefully furnished and decorated throughout. All rooms are fitted with ceiling fans and there are 2 portable standing fans. There is a spacious, light and airy, open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area.

The lounge/dining area includes 2 comfortable 3-seater sofas, a coffee table, dining table and 6 chairs, a 27 inch flat screen CBC multi-choice (38 channels) Cable/Satellite TV, a DVD player, a VCR, CD/cassette/radio stereo system and a telephone for accepting incoming calls and making outgoing local calls - which are free. An additional telephone is located in the master bedroom. Wi-Fi Broadband Internet is also available for guests' use. 

The living areas open out to the large L-shaped, shaded veranda - furnished with a rattan sofa & chairs and a coffee table - with views of the secluded pool, sun deck and gardens. A gas BBQ, patio chairs and sun loungers are also provided - as well as an outdoor shower. 

The well-equipped kitchen area includes a breakfast bar and 2 stools, a dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, an electric oven and gas hob, a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, an electric kettle, blender, crockery, cutlery and glassware. An iron & ironing board plus 2 umbrellas, 2 torches and a couple of beach chairs are also provided.

There is a washing machine in the laundry room that adjoins Alamanda. Your housekeeper will be happy to do your personal washing if you wish.

The air-conditioned master bedroom offers a king size bed, fitted wardrobes, a dressing table, chest of drawers, a hairdryer and a small safe for guests' valuables. This room benefits from an en suite shower/w.c. room.

The other 2 air-conditioned bedrooms each have 2 single beds that can be made up as double beds, fitted wardrobes and small safes for guests' valuables. 1 bedroom has a small chest of drawers, a table and a hairdryer while the other has a dressing table and a chest of drawers. These 2 bedrooms share a shower/w.c. room which is off the hallway.

There is ample parking space directly inside the gates at Alamanda, should guests wish to hire a car during their stay.

Karen or Peter, the owner's Barbados agents, will meet and greet you on your arrival at Alamanda. Your housekeeper, Theresa, may also be there.

The rates shown above include full time maid service (twice a week for 1 or 2 people and 3 days a week for 3 to 6 people), all taxes, gas, electricity (including air-conditioning) linen and towels (including beach towels).

YOU WILL HAVE SOLE USE OF THE VILLA REGARDLESS OF THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN YOUR PARTY.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS:-

A pre-arranged transfer from Grantley Adams Airport to Alamanda. (Approx. 40 minute drive. BDS$ 65-BDS$ 80).

A welcome pack of groceries can be ordered to your specification. It will be delivered to the villa prior to your arrival and you will be required to pay for the goods after you arrive.

An option to upgrade to CBC Multimedia Plus (an additional 20 channels), a sports pack (6 extra channels) and a movie pack (6 extra channels). These can be ordered in advance for the duration of guests' stays for a charge of £ 45 for each extension pack. Please advise at least 12 weeks before your stay if you would like to take up this option.

HOW TO BOOK/TERMS & CONDITIONS:-

Credit card payments are not accepted at this time. (This is in order to keep the rates low and to avoid high bank charges for this small business).

A deposit cheque (or Banker's Draft/International Money Order if you are not resident in the UK) for 25% is required to secure a booking.

Once I have received your deposit payment I will send you a Booking Confirmation, together with my 'Car Hire' and 'Before you Travel' information.

A cheque (or Banker's Draft/International Money Order if you are not resident in the UK) for the balance will be required 8 weeks prior to the date of your arrival at Alamanda.

Should the booking be made less than 8 weeks prior to the arrival date at the accommodation, the full payment will be due.

Full payment must be completed before your stay commences. Therefore, any ‘late’ bookings must be made and finalised no less than 10 days prior to your arrival at Alamanda.

As with all holidays, travel insurance is strongly recommended.

10 to 14 days before you arrive in Barbados you will receive a useful information pack that includes maps and many general tips designed to help you get the most out of your holiday.
