Fidji Beach House - For up to 5 people - This property may not be suitable for families with young children or people who are looking for a quieter location as it is located on Highway 1 - the busy road that runs up the west coast of the island. THE LOCATION:- Located in Fitts Village* - within the parish of St. James - on the beautiful ‘platinum’ west coast of Barbados, this property is just 80 metres from the beach and the clear turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. For basic essentials there is a mini mart at the petrol station less than 5 minute walk away from Fidji Beach House. A supermarket is a 2 minute drive away and it is also accessible by walking along the beach for 10-15 minutes. They offer a free shuttle van back to the house if guests require it to transport their groceries. There is a deli in the shopping complex by the supermarket and it is open for breakfast and lunch.
A 10
minute drive north will bring you to all of the amenities in
Sunset Crest & Holetown. Here you will find an
excellent selection of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets, the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre
- with its shops, cafes & cinemas, plus lots more - bars, banks, a supermarket,
Post Office, medical centres, a cyber café and an air-conditioned shopping
mall - with duty free shops.
Several tennis courts are available for hire and 2 world-class golf courses - The
Royal Westmoreland and Sandy Lane - are within easy reach.
The airport is a 30 minute
drive and the bustling capital of Bridgetown is 20 minutes away by car.
Buses run frequently from the stops that are
close by Fidji
Beach House and they have a set rate of
BDS$ 2 to any destination in Barbados. Taxis are readily
available and there is a
reputable taxi stand only 3 doors down.
* Fitts Village is a fishing area which extends towards the neighbouring Paynes Bay Fishing Market.
It also boasts a very select group of restaurants,
including Il Tempio which overlooks the Caribbean Sea. This place of fine
dining is the only Italian restaurant in the
district and is just one of a few Italian restaurants in all of Barbados.
The Fitts Village area contains several reefs, and with clear blue waters, it is good for snorkelling. Occasionally you may spot a turtle surfacing for a breath of air. The
beaches along the west coast are excellent for swimming. This is typically a
quiet beach, and it is the ideal spot to relax with a good book under the shade
of a tree or
enjoy the sea and sun.
Picnic
benches are scattered among the Casuarina trees lining the shore, and to the
north is a small, open esplanade. |

THE ACCOMMODATION:-
The 1st air-conditioned bedroom is cosy and it includes a single bed. The 2nd roomy air-conditioned bedroom includes twin beds (that can be made up as a queen size bed).
There are 2 shower/W.C. rooms and ceiling fans in the house. Towels and bed linen can be found in the closets of each bedroom. A small safe is also provided for guests' valuables.
W ashing lines, a washing machine and outdoor shower are located in the shared patio area that separates Bibian’s Beach House and Fidji Beach House. A charcoal BBQ grill is also available.Rudy, the owner, or his wife, Denise, will give you a warm Bajan welcome on your arrival at Fidji Beach House and they will happily answer any questions that you may have regarding your stay in Barbados. SPECIAL OFFER :- Fidji 1 Bedroom Apartment. The owners are able to convert
their 3 bedroom beach house into a complete and comfortable 1 bedroom
apartment. This is an economical and
budget-friendly alternative for the single traveller or a couple. Enjoy the
tropical greenery as you relax on the reclining beach chairs just outside
the door, or dine alfresco on the lower deck. Fidji 1 Bedroom Apartment includes a bedroom (this is the '2nd bedroom' shown within the 'Photo Gallery' for Fidji) with 2 single beds that can be pushed together to make a queen size bed; a shower/W.C. room; a kitchen; an enclosed raised deck with loungers and a dining table & chairs as well a private outdoor patio & dining area. (The lounge, internal dining area and the other 2 bedrooms will be locked off). (This is in order to keep the rates low and to avoid high bank charges for this small business). A deposit cheque (or Banker's Draft/International Money Order if you are not resident in the UK) for 25% is required to secure a booking. Once I have received your deposit payment I will send you a Booking Confirmation, together with my 'Car Hire' and 'Before you Travel' information. A cheque (or Banker's Draft/International Money Order if you are not resident in the UK) for the balance will be required 8 weeks prior to your arrival at Fidji Beach House. Should the booking be made less than 8 weeks prior to the arrival date at the accommodation, the full payment will be due. Full payment must be completed before your stay commences. Therefore, any ‘late’ bookings must be made and finalised no less than 10 days prior to your arrival at Fidji Beach House. The following cancellation charges apply:-
Cancellation more than 8 weeks prior to the arrival date - Loss of deposit. Cancellation less than 8 weeks prior to the arrival date – Loss of 100% of the total cost. As with all holidays, travel insurance is strongly recommended. 10 to 14 days before you arrive in Barbados you will receive a useful information pack that includes maps and many general tips designed to help you get the most out of your holiday. Hi Irene, "We all had the most wonderful time at Bibians and Fidji Beach Houses. It was all absolutely perfect. We made full use of the lovely veranda overlooking the beach at Bibians, cooking local fish on the BBQ every night bought from the local fish market. We had monkeys visiting us every day and had a turtle come right in - swimming up to the beach in front of us. My granddaughter helped the local fisherman rescue their sprats from the nets right on the beach. The houses were traditional and cosy and Rudy was on call if needed". Lesley, Tony & family - UK.
