Pool at Porters Court‘Bower Fold’, # 6 Porters Court is one of just 8 secluded, privately owned villas set within their own tranquil and secure landscaped tropical gardens. The villas are centred around an attractive communal swimming pool complete with a sun deck, loungers and sunshades.

# 6 enjoys a stunning position directly next to the pool.

THE LOCATION:-

Located on the beautiful ‘platinum’ west coast of Barbados in the parish of St. James, Porters Court is less than 200 metres from the white sandy beaches and crystal blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Many water sports, including scuba diving and snorkelling are available locally. There are several tennis courts available for hire, and for golf enthusiasts, two of the finest courses in the Caribbean – The Royal Westmoreland and Sandy Lane - are within easy reach.

The famous Lone Star Restaurant is just a short walk away, as is the world-renowned Royal Pavilion Hotel where you can sample the superb food and first class service on offer in the beach-front restaurant – an excellent choice for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Alternatively, you can just chill out with a cool drink and a bite to eat in Ju Ju's beach bar.

You will find amenities such as bars, banks, a supermarket, post office, medical centres, a cyber cafe and an air-conditioned shopping mall with duty free shops in Sunset Crest & Holetown - just a short bus/car journey/half hour walk away - plus an excellent selection of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. Several of the bars and restaurants have tables overlooking the sea – these are ideal locations for a cooling cocktail at sundown or a romantic meal. On the way from Porters Court to Holetown you will find a few bars - the famous Groots Bar & Restaurant is a 20 minute walk away.

THE ACCOMMODATION:-

Dining & Kitchen Areas# 6 Porters Court has been built to a traditional chattel house style with polished hardwood floors, high pickled pine ceilings and coral lights.

 

Sitting AreaThis is a modern, yet family-friendly villa with a range of additional facilities provided to make you feel at home. There is air-conditioning throughout and there are ceiling fans in every room.

The comfortable, spacious lounge/dining/kitchen area opens out via 2 sets of double doors to the L-shapedAlfresco Dining on the Veranda veranda that overlooks the pool. It is furnished with a table, chairs and a BBQ. There are blinds that help to block out the sun at the end of the day and provide more privacy. This is the perfect place for al fresco dining or peaceful relaxation watching the hummingbirds flitting between the exotic plants. You may also catch sight of the monkeys at dawn and dusk.

Lounge AreaInside the villa, the lounge is furnished with a dining table & 4 chairs, a sofa & 2 armchairs, Cable TV, a CD/cassette player, a DVD player & DVDs and a telephone for accepting incoming calls and making outgoing local calls - which are free. A wireless Broadband connection and an ipod docking station are also available for guests.

KitchenThe modern fitted kitchen offers everything you would expect to find in a comfortable family home. It includes a washing machine & tumble dryer, a large electric oven & hob, a large fridge/freezer, a microwave, toaster, electric kettle, a blender, coffee maker, an iron & ironing board, crockery, cutlery and glassware.

If you have children you will appreciate the child-friendly little touches such as the array of games, toys, water-play & sports equipment, buckets & spades and plastic plates & cutlery.

All of these facilities help to make the villa ideal for self-catering or, if you prefer, a housekeeper/cook can be arranged.

A powder room with a w.c. and hand basin is adjacent to the kitchen area.

 

Both of the large bedrooms are attractively decorated.

 

Master BedroomThe master bedroom offers a queen size bed, a large wardrobe and ample shelf space, bedside tables and lamps and a dressing table – complete with a hairdryer - and an en suite bath/shower/w.c. room. This bedroom has direct access to the veranda.

 

Study AreaA safety deposit box is provided for guests’ valuables.

 

There is a small study area where a selection of books and magazines, plus a UK electrical socket are located.

 

Second BedroomThe second bedroom is adjacent to the study area and it offers twin beds that can be made up as a king size bed, an ample wardrobe and shelf space, a bedside table and lamp, a dressing table and an en suite bath/shower/w.c. room. A nightlight is provided should guests with children require it.

 

A highchair and a cot (suitable for a child under the age of 2) with bedding are available for rent at £5.00 per night. A folding bed can also be provided if required.

 

There is a private car port should you wish to hire a car during your stay.

 

Nearby Alleynes BayYour housekeeper, Veronica, will give you a warm Bajan welcome on your arrival at # 6 Porters Court. Please do not hesitate to ask her any questions regarding your stay in Barbados.

The rates shown above include all taxes, maid service (twice a week), electricity (including air-conditioning), linen and towels (including beach towels).

 

Additional maid service can be arranged if required (BDS$ 80 per day for cleaning).

Credit card payments are not accepted at this time. (This is in order to keep the rates low and to avoid high bank charges for this small business).

A deposit cheque or Banker’s Draft for 25% is required to secure a booking.

Please note that deposit payments are non-refundable.

Once I have received your deposit payment, I will send you a Booking Confirmation together with some car hire details which include a 10% discount on selected car rentals.

A cheque or Banker’s Draft for the balance will be required 8 weeks prior to the date of your arrival at Porters Court.

As with all holidays, travel insurance is strongly recommended.

10 to 14 days before you arrive in Barbados you will receive a useful information pack that includes unique offers for use on my friends’ personalised boat trips, as well as maps and many general tips designed to help you get the most out of your holiday.
