Yellow Alamanda is an attractive, privately owned apartment.

 

THE LOCATION:-

Located within Sunset Crest on Barbados’ beautiful ‘platinum’ west coast, Yellow Alamanda is one of 11 terraced properties situated in a quiet cul-de-sac. 

The owners have recently completed an extensive renovation of this property.

This apartment is less than a 5 minute walk from the superb white sandy beaches - washed by the crystal-clear blue waters of the Caribbean Sea - where many water sports including scuba diving and snorkelling are available.

Pool at The Beach HouseGuests staying at Yellow Alamanda have free access to the pool at The Beach House (where there is free wireless Internet access) - which is located within walking distance - and guests are also entitled to discounts in various restaurants, shops and the local tennis courts. 

Two world-class golf courses - The Royal Westmoreland and Sandy Lane - are a 5 minute drive and a 5 minute walk respectively.

An excellent selection of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets are within walking distance - as are other amenities, including bars, banks, a supermarket, post office, medical centres, a cyber café and an air-conditioned shopping mall - with duty free shops.

 

THE ACCOMMODATION:-

Lounge AreaYellow Alamanda is set within its own private garden. The shaded front veranda – furnished with a day bed and 2 patio chairs – usually benefits from a cooling breeze. Two sun loungers are also available for guests’ use.

Dining AreaThis very comfortable apartment is tastefully decorated throughout.

There is an open-plan lounge/kitchen area. Facilities include a ceiling fan, a 32" flat screen TV, a dining table & chairs, a 3 seater sofa (that can be converted to a bed suitable for sleeping 1 person over the age of 8 or 2 people under the age of 8), 2 rattan armchairs and a coffee table.

Yellow Alamanda Kitchen AreaThe newly-installed, well-equipped kitchen includes an electric oven & a gas hob, a small microwave, large fridge/freezer, an iron & ironing board, a kettle, coffee maker and toaster - plus crockery, cutlery and glassware.

A washing machine is located in the laundry room - which is located off the bedroom - and there is a washing line to the rear of the apartment.

Yellow Alamanda BedroomThe air-conditioned bedroom is furnished with beds that can be made up as a king size or 2 singles - and there is a king size mosquito net over the bed. There are fitted wardrobes, a vanity unit with a hairdryer, bedside tables & lamps and a wall-mounted fan and Cable TV. There is a small safe for guests' valuables.

A cot (plus bedding & a mosquito net) are available at the rental rate of BDS$ 50 per week (payable locally).

Yellow Alamanda Shower RoomThe en suite shower/w.c. room is beautifully tiled.  

Should you wish to hire a car during your stay, there is a parking space on the drive in front of the apartment.

The owner, Helen, will meet and greet you on your arrival at the apartment and she will happily answer any questions that you may have regarding your stay in Barbados.

Price promise: You should not find this property advertised for less anywhere else. If you do, please let me know.

The RATES (in pounds sterling) for renting Yellow Alamanda are:-

15th April -
 31stAugust

Minimum booking 7 nights.

 

Up to 2 people: £ 40.00 per night.

  3 or 4 people: £ 45.00 per night.

 

 

1st September -
 15th December

Minimum booking 7 nights.

 

 

Up to 2 people: £ 36.00 per night.

  3 or 4 people: £ 41.00 per night.

 

16th December -
 15th January

Minimum booking 7 nights.

 

Up to 2 people: £ 55.00 per night.

  3 or 4 people: £ 60.00 per night.

 

16th January -
 14th April

Minimum booking 7 nights.

 

Up to 2 people: £ 50.00 per night.

  3 or 4 people: £ 55.00 per night.

 

St James Beach

The rates shown above include all taxes, maid service (twice a week except for the period 1st September – 15th December when it will be once a week), electricity (including air-conditioning), linen and towels (including beach towels).

A "GREEN" DISCOUNT OF £ 10.00 PER WEEK ON THE ABOVE RATES IS AVAILABLE IF:-

Guests do not use plastic bags from the supermarket or shops during their stay. The owner will provide an M&S wheelie shopping basket or re-useable shopping bags for guests’ use.

Guests use the air-conditioning, lights and washing machine efficiently. Washing powder will be on offer (at a cost) dispensed from the owner’s bulk purchase. Energy saving lights have been installed where possible.

Guests keep refundable/recyclable products for disposal by the owner.

If you are a diehard ‘green’ traveller you will love to keep your waste food etc. for compost. The owner lives a mile away from the apartment and she would collect it daily, or as necessary.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS:-

A pre-arranged taxi transfer from Grantley Adams Airport to Yellow Alamanda (Approx. 40 minutes transfer time).

A welcome pack of groceries can be ordered to your specification. It will be delivered to the apartment prior to your arrival and you will be required to pay for the goods after you arrive.

Additional maid service. BDS$ 60 per day (payable locally).

Rental of a DVD player and/or a blender. BDS$ 24 per item per week with a refundable deposit of BDS$ 60 per item per week if the items are returned in good working order (payable locally).

A 'Pay as you go' mobile telephone. Please ask the owner for the rate for renting the ‘phone after you arrive at the apartment.

RESTRICTIONS:-

Strictly no smoking inside the property.

Credit card payments are not accepted at this time. (This is in order to keep the rates low and to avoid high bank charges for this small business).

A deposit cheque or Banker's Draft for 25% of the total cost is required to secure a booking.

Please note that deposit payments are non-refundable.

Once I have received your deposit payment, I will send you a Booking Confirmation together with some car hire details which include a 10% discount on selected car rentals.

A cheque or Banker's Draft for the balance will be required 8 weeks prior to the date of your arrival at Yellow Alamanda.

As with all holidays, travel insurance is strongly recommended.

10 to 14 days before you arrive in Barbados you will receive a useful information pack that includes unique offers for use on my friends’ personalised boat trips, as well as maps and many general tips designed to help you get the most out of your holiday.
